Enjoy a wonderful holiday in Chalet Belle Hélène

The chalet is a starting point for a wonderful holiday in the mountains. Whether you go hiking, climbing, skiing, boarding, motorcycling or cabin tours, the chalet is in a perfect location.

The starting point for a top skiing or hiking holiday

The chalet is in an ideal location for skiers, mountain hikers, mountain bikers and motorcyclists. The chalet Belle Hélène is located in the village of Fiesch along the Furkastrasse.

As an (alpine) hiker or skier / boarder you are within an 8-minute walk (approx. 750m) at the bottom of the gondola in Fiesch, after which you can go to Fiescheralp (Aletsch Arena). Then you can go even higher to the Eggishorn (approx. 2950) to make beautiful descents and enjoy the various mountain huts.

A number of (alpine) hiking trails can be found under Mountain hiking for the novice and the advanced mountain man or woman. Under Skien you will find a number of pictures of Fiescheralp. A pleasure to ski there. Also for kids.

The Furkastrasse runs through the Rhone Valley from the town of Brig to the Furka Pass. This allows you as a mountain biker and motorcyclist to ride the most amazing passes such as the Furka Pass, the Grimsel Pass, the Nufenen Pass, the Simplon Pass and the Gotthard Pass.

The chalet is located in the village of Fiesch, about 700m from the center where the supermarkets, restaurants and shops are located. A few restaurants are already 300 m away.

You rent the chalet in its entirety, which gives you wonderful space. It is possible to bring a small dog. Please contact us (contact details are at the top and bottom of each page).

Chalet facilities

The chalet has the following facilities:

  • TV flat screen (streaming) in the living room upstairs (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Rakuten TV and TV via the app NLZiet)
  • TV flat screen (streaming) in the master bedroom (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Rakuten TV and TV via the app NLZiet)
  • Box spring beds
  • Steam shower with water massage
  • Blueray player and CD player
  • Free WIFI
  • Hi-fi set with internet radio and to play your playlists (via WiFI or Bluetooth) with integrated CD player
  • Free parking
  • Outdoor hanging chair
  • Wood burner in the living room upstairs
  • Heating in every (bed) room
  • Children's pool (for summer)
  • High chair and cot
  • Children's swing
  • Terrace downstairs and veranda upstairs
  • BBQ and fire pit
  • Various (board) games and books including Monopoly in Wallis
  • Microwave and oven
  • Nespresso coffee machine and kettle
  • Tefal grill and toaster

The living room upstairs has a veranda with a view over the mountains and the Rhone Valley. Across the street is the town of Ernen (known for its summer music festivals). The living room has patio doors to the veranda and has a modern dining table with beautiful chairs.

In the winter you can cozy light the wood stove. There is enough wood in the wood shed. The standard heating is by means of a Speicher heater. We do not know such a stove in the Netherlands, but in the mountains (where there is often no natural gas and electricity is used, this is an excellent solution). The Speicher charges itself at night (cheap electricity) and releases its heat during the day. (There is a description of the simple operation of the Speicher in the House folder).

There is a modern LG television on which you can watch the news and other programs via the NLZiet app (free for a month and downloadable from the Playstore or Apple Store). You can also show and discuss the route of the walk on the TV. Here you can view the map of the Aletsch Arena and more. You can easily connect your laptop to the TV via the available HDMI cable or via your smartphone (via the Smartview Samsung mobiles option).

There is also a BluRay player for DVDs and a hi-fi set to play CDs. There is an internet radio where you can receive many channels, including many Dutch ones. You can also play your favorite playlists because the hi-fi set can also be connected via WiFi and Bluetooth.

There are also various (board) games available. There is also a high chair and cot for kids up to 3 years old (these are located under the stairs).

The kitchen is equipped with standard components such as plates, cutlery, pans, etc. There is also a dishwasher, Tefal grill plate, oven, microwave, Nepresso machine, milk frother, etc.

And if you want to raclette or cheese fondue, the supplies are also available. Certainly the cheese fondue should take place once when you are in Switzerland. Incidentally, you can also enjoy delicious cheese fondue in Fiesch, in Hotel du Glacier (recommended!).

NB

The Swiss coffee cups are very similar to the Dutch ones, but just don't fit. There are a number of coffee cups in the chalet as standard. You can buy Nespresso coffee cups with the Migros, but make sure they are also suitable for Nespresso!

The upstairs bathroom has a bath, shower and toilet next to the sink and bathroom furniture. There is also an electric heating that can be adjusted as needed. New bathroom furniture has recently been installed.

The downstairs bathroom has a steam shower with water massage, sink and toilet. There is a design radiator that can be adjusted as needed. Especially after a day of mountain hiking or skiing, a massage shower is wonderful.

The upstairs bedroom has recently been made new and is equipped with 2 wonderful box-spring beds. The beds are linked together so that they do not slide apart. A good night's sleep is important after a brisk walk or day of skiing. The bedroom has patio doors to the terrace.

There is a streaming TV available with Netflix, Prime and Rakuten TV available as standard (use your own login). In addition, you can use the NLZiet app for Dutch channels via the Smart View option on your mobile phone.

There is also a wardrobe with a hanging and lying area.

There is an electric heater that you can adjust as needed. A short manual is included in the house folder.

The downstairs bedroom has 2 single box-spring beds with bedside tables and night lamps. Furthermore, a closet to store the clothes. We have placed special box-spring beds to ensure a wonderful night's sleep.

An electric heater is present and can be set as needed.

The 2nd bedroom downstairs recently has a bunk bed that is also suitable for adults. There is a drawer with an extra bed so you can sleep here with 3 people. Ideal for several children or if you, as a parent, like to sleep next to your child.

There is also a cupboard available for clothes and an electric heater for when it is cold. This can be set as needed.

“We had a wonderful summer here with our 2 children (8 and 5). It’s a great chalet, comfortable, nicely located with a picturesque view and not expensive. The small village of Fiesch offers what it needs with a supermarket and few cozy restaurants. In terms of excursions, there is plenty and you can get to the Eggishorn and view the Aletsch Glacier from there. If you are looking for more entertainment, the larger town of Brig is half an hour away with cozy shops, plenty of terraces, but also a large swimming paradise.”

Helene C.

“Had a wonderful long weekend in chalet Belle Helene! Two days of motorcycling over the various passes. Also made a trip to the Aletsch glacier with the gondola. Village within walking distance for restaurants and shops!”
